Engineer Walid El-Khafif has been selected to be the new Chairman & CEO of EGYPTAIR MAINTENANCE & ENGINEERING Company, succeeding Eng. Yehia Zakaria who moved to head EGYPTAIR Holding Company.

El-Khafif joined EGYPTAIR in 1989 as an Airframe System Engineer in the Engineering Department. He started as an Airframe System Engineer. In 2007, he was elected as Airframe System Supervisor at EGYPTAIR MAINTENANCE & ENGINEERING Company and worked there until 2010 when he was promoted to be the Technical Services Director. El-Khafif has been recognized over the years of his career for strong adherence to safety, ability to work as team member and leader, and having exceptional work ethic.

The new chairman has long experience in the field of aircraft maintenance and overhaul, which he gained over 30 years of working in various engineering and administrative positions in the company, and has been a key member of a number of the company's development projects including selection of new aircraft and aircraft engines for EGYPTAIR Holding Company, supply chain for aircraft maintenance, and implementing digital maintenance applications.
