 New Horizons for EGYPTAIR MAINTENANCE & ENGINEERING in Africa & Asia

EGYPTAIR MAINTENANCE & ENGINEERING has managed to open new horizons in the African and Asian markets in the field of aircraft maintenance and overhaul. It has contracted with Zimbabwe's national carrier; Air Zimbabwe, to carry out heavy maintenance tasks for one of its Boeing B737-800 aircraft. Another Asian customer is Kam Air, an Afghani carrier, where the Egyptian service provider provides overhaul for its Airbus A340.

In this regard, Eng. Abou Taleb Tawfik, Chairman of EGYPTAIR MAINTENANCE & ENGINEERING said that the company plans to attract more third party customers to increase profit. To achieve this goal, the company continuously develops its human capabilities through continuous training of engineers and technicians on the latest aircraft types, developing its technical capabilities using the latest technology of aircraft maintenance in addition to expanding the scope of the technical services provided to meet the needs of the largest number of customers.

He added that “the international accreditations are the basis of providing technical service to the third party customers and helps bring more contracts with new customers domestically and internationally and in various domestic and international stations. The company seeks to maintain such accreditations through the ongoing inspections of the international bodies to renew the certificates and approvals; European Aviation Safety Agency "EASA" inspection was the last audit during the month of April, which included the company's headquarters in Cairo and the stations of Burj Al Arab in Alexandria and Sharm el-Sheikh”.

He pointed out that the company's ambitious plans are aimed at expanding in the African and Asian markets which are promising and geographically close. “The technological development, the large expansion and the global competition among airlines is in the interest of the aircraft maintenance sector due to the growing need for this vital aviation sector,” added Tawfik.

EGYPTAIR MAINTENANCE & ENGINEERING already provides maintenance services to a number of customers in Africa and Asia including; Air Madagascar, Libyan Airlines, Petro Air, CAA, Biman, Regent Airways of Bangladesh and Shaheen Air of Pakistan, as well as many line maintenance customers such as Tunisair, Royal Air Maroc, Ethiopian Airlines, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, Emirates, Jazeera Airways, Wataniya Airways from Kuwait, Air Arabia Group, Royal Jordanian, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Flynas, Aviation Horizon from Saudi Arabia, Yemenia Airways, Kenya Airways and Gulf Air.
