EGYPTAIR MAINTENANCE AND ENGINEERING has successfully passed the inspection carried out by US-D.O.T. (United States - Department of Transportation) in February 2014. The inspection scope was covering Safety Workshop and Oxygen Cylinders Workshop in Mechanical Components workshops.

This US-D.O.T. approval renewal is required every 5 years .

The inspection was carried out by “Steigerwalt Associates Inc.” which is approved by US-D.O.T. as an Independent Inspection Agency.

“Steigerwalt Associates” inspector has checked all related measuring equipment, procedures and personnel in Safety and Oxygen Cylinders workshops and confirmed that all regulation requirements of 49 CFR 100-199 , special permits and pamphlets are being applied” said Eng. Hisham Nasser, EGYPTAIR MAINTENANCE & ENGINEERING Chairman & CEO. He added, “No negative findings remarked at all, and inspector praised our commitment to regulations and Hi-pressure cylinders manufacturers’ requirements”

US-DOT approval is a basic requirement of ECAA, EASA & FAA authorities as it is a necessity for MRO to comply with the High Pressure Cylinders manufacturers’ recommendations requiring such approval as well.

US-DOT is concerned with monitoring and controlling the implementation of safety regulations in the field of transportation either in trucking and motorcoaches, roadways and bridges, maritime and waterways and aviation as well.
